How the observers described the light

According to Pettigrew’s published account and later interviews, the recreated light displayed several features commonly reported in historical Min Min sightings:

  • it appeared suspended above the horizon rather than on the ground;
  • it shimmered and seemed to bob slightly;
  • its apparent colour shifted through red, orange, yellow and sometimes green;

What remained unresolved

The experiment did not prove that every Min Min report has the same explanation.

Several important limitations remain.
